Dental Implants
Dental implants are a highly effective and long-lasting option for replacing missing teeth. Designed to look, feel, and function like natural teeth, implants restore both aesthetics and oral health.
What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant consists of a medical device -a type of screw made of titanium, zirconia or polymer- that is surgically placed into the jawbone to serve as an artificial tooth root. Once healed, a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture is attached to complete the restoration.
In more aesthetic cases, with the limitation of some special indications, an implant can be placed at the same time with the tooth extraction (immediate implant placement). In these cases, a provisional restoration is placed shortly after the surgery. The aim of this procedure is to ensure mostly the aesthetic appearance of a patient’s smile and avoid passing from a provisional restoration that may not be very pleasant for the patient, especially during the healing period. A major advantage of this technic, when possible, is the reduction of treatment time and number of interventions needed.
Benefits of Dental Implants
- Natural Appearance & Function – Implants look and feel just like real teeth.
- Long-Term Stability – With proper care, implants can last a lifetime.
- Prevention of Bone Loss – Implants help maintain jawbone density by stimulating natural bone growth.
- Enhanced Comfort & Confidence – No slipping or discomfort, unlike traditional dentures.
The Implant Procedure
Following an initial assessment, your treatment plan may include preparatory procedures such as bone grafting or sinus lifts if needed. The implant is then placed, allowing time for integration with the bone before the final restoration is attached.
With extensive experience in implantology, our clinic ensures a smooth and precise treatment process.
