Regeneration Periodontal Surgery
Regeneration of Periodontal tissues – Biomaterials – Growth factors
Under certain conditions, bone periodontal lesions are suitable for the application of so-called regenerative techniques, i.e. the regeneration of the tissues that surround the teeth, providing better support and improving their prognosis.
These techniques appeared at the beginning of the 80s. Regenerative techniques are based on the correct use of special biomaterials and growth factors which, to be effective, should be used by the periodontist in combination with microsurgical techniques, using magnification or a microscope and in appropriate periodontal lesions.
Along with the enormous progress in the field of molecular biology, combined with the development of technology, they offer the possibility to deal with cases of high aesthetic demand with predictability changing radically the goals of periodontal surgical treatment in certain cases.
